"Trackless Depths" is another fine work by Thomas Park, signing this time as Mister Vapor. This gorgeous drone piece made with sounds of unknown (to us) origins is blurry and ethereal in the same time, quiet and minimal but everchanging. Ideal listening while daydreaming, meditating or sleeping. This Mister Vapor longform piece was composed mainly by using wind instruments like the flute and pan flute. Other sounds, such as a recording of thunder and reverberant metal noises, are included to heighten the impression of these wind sounds. The release is very much about a sense of place, maybe an imaginary one. Have a listen, and find out where it takes you. favoritefavoritefavoritefavoritefavorite ( 1 reviews ) Topics: longform, ambient, soundscape, acoustic, flute, wind, processed, drone
Mister Vapor comes back on Eg0cide Production, this time not only with sounds, but with 5 experimental videos. Minimal and psychedelic in the same time, and above all hypnotic like his music. "With Complex Silence 6, ambient magician Mister Vapor puts his trademark Industrial Ambient stamp upon the Series. This mesmerizing long-form work has a deeply groaning drone at its foundation, while drifting and whispering higher-toned textures render a swirling, rushing atmosphere. In the middle, the constant, unending hum of a giant generator or cosmic wheel grinds slowly but purposefully onward, sometimes hinting at an unseen darkness or mystery looming somewhere beyond. All these... Topics: ambient, longform, minimal, soundscape, complex silence
For Complex Silence 27 Mister Vapor offers a remixed and reinterpreted version of his release "Music For Transit." The new longform piece is a 7-part suite: 1. Waveborn 1 2. Pacific Reef 1 3. Meditative Darkness 1 4. Pacific Tides 1 5. Waveborn 2 6. Pacific Reef 2 7. Meditative Darkness 2 The best word to describe Complex Silence 27 is meditative and Mister Vapor takes us on a slowly undulating and watery trip through primeval currents, reefs, and tides. It evokes a sense of time,... Topics: ambient, longform, experimental, drone, mystified
This 6-hour piece was created using sferics, or atmospheric discharges from the Earth. It debuted in its entirety on Stillstream radio in 2009, and was played on Chestnut Tree radio once again in 2012. The piece has often been requested and asked about, so here it is. favoritefavoritefavoritefavoritefavorite ( 2 reviews ) Topics: ambient, longform, experimental, drone
This version of "Constant", by Mister Vapor, uses blurred and effected sferics, which are sounds emitted by the earth. Less stable than the earliest of Constants, "Constant 25" nonetheless provides a nice, consistent floating sound bed perfect for deep listening. "Constant" pieces, for those unfamiliar, are musical works based on being as minimal as possible-- finding the least possible thing necessary for listening. These pieces tend to be drone in nature. Mister Vapor, formerly known for foggy minimal drones, has taken a foray into experimental sound collages. Shifting drones are accompanied by dubby basslines, fragmented sonics and bizarre audible mishaps. If listening to this E.P. makes your reality seem to shift, don't worry-- it's just the music! Bonus: A music video for Track Two is included with the release. Enjoy! Note: As of January 30, 2011, this release has been remastered from the ground up using 24-bit audio. A new release from Mister Vapor. Here are two mid- to- longform pieces on the familiar subject of deep space. They are compositions, true, and they are also minimal and melodic, verging on sheer atmospheria. Good for peripheral listening; excellent with headphones. Topics: ambient, longform, soundscape

"From the moment I first envisioned the Complex Silence Series, I primarily wanted other artists to participate in creating new music from a common, shared idea. I wanted to present and showcase diversity of artists and music and sounds, but within the guidelines of both musical abstraction and beauty. Now, here we are, 10 releases into the Series. The Series has presented Tange, JMMIII, Mysterybear, Mister Vapor, Fosel, and Cousin Silas. The body of work that these artists have created is... Mister Vapor approached his latest contribution to the Rain series by experimenting with processed sound collage. "Mister Vapor's 'Rain 2' is an experimental ambient drone track made using certain special samples, which were patterned into a collage, then stretched and mastered. It was made in part to fit the 'Rain' series motif of a minimal soundscape ideal for playing quietly in the background." Rain is a series of conceptual tracks produced for Webbed Hand Records. A challenge was recently raised by C. Reider of Vuzh Music-- for netlabel artists to be our own archivists . The point being-- if netlabels and netlabel artists do not document our own releases-- it may be that no one will. The Complex Silence Series has evolved nicely into its second segment, with some darker and some lighter pieces gracing the collection. Drone is an influence in some pieces, with more traditional synth ambience holding sway in others. Some pieces are just-- well-- strange... "Prometheus lay, bound by a chain, on a rock on mount kazbek being awakened by the cold of the winter wind. He instinctively knew why this eternal fate had befallen him but knowing didn't help ease the anxiety of the torment to come, every day, not at the same time, but at various intervals, to maintain the agony and suspense of the punishment." "Like he had done for thousands of years, he began the breathing ritual, in and out, slow deliberate breaths, deep and profound to clear... Topics: ambient, drone, soundscape
Mister Vapor posted a nice, plum drone in late summer of 2014 called "Jupiter". Scott Lawlor picked that sound up and created 3 pieces, each based on a moon of Jupiter. Scott and Vapor asked EugeneKha to add some elements to the compositions, and Mister Vapor joined in to add a final layer or three, artwork and mastering. This release is a collaboration in the truest sense-- it exemplifies the kind of cooperation made possible by internet communication. In 2009, The Ghost Between The Strings approached Mister Vapor with some interesting guitar-based loop structures, proposing that Vapor remix the loops, adding percussion and other light touches. The result is an engaging, often gritty industrial sound that makes a good sequel to "Urbscape". Music for driving in the city at night. Topics: guitar, industrial, ambient, minimal
